9/20/2019 · The second QANTAS Boeing 747-438, VH-OJB, was painted in the Wunala Dreaming colors in 1994 and was repainted in standard fleet colors in 2003. That same year, the last of six Bo eing 747-438ERs delivered to QANTAS, VH-OEJ, was painted as the new Wunala Dreaming for its delivery to the airline. It was repainted in 2012 back into standard fleet colors.
Wunala Dreaming was digitalised on computer and magnified 100 times to generate 2 kilometres of blotting paper. This allowed the 67 patterns – including 1324 irregular dots – to be traced onto this Boeing 747-400 aircraft, the most advanced aviation technology available for commercial travel.

Wunala means kangaroo. Nalanji Dreaming (Boeing 747-300 VH-EBU) was also painted to a design by John and Ros Moriarty and was launched in 1995. The aircraft has been retired in 2008. Yananyi Dreaming (Boeing 737-800 VH-VXB) launched in 2002 the artwork was by Rene Kulitja, a Pitjitjantjarra woman from Mutitjulu, near Uluru.
